Journey 4 Life Case Study
Investing in our youth is very important and this is a project that is very special. The Journey 4 Life is a conference that serves as a platform to connect the youth of The Virgin Islands with positive resources, mentoring with focus on building strong families.
While there are many conferences and conventions that take place throughout the year, The Journey 4 Life is an organization started by Pastor John Smith of St. Croix, USVI designed specifically to empower, encourage and educate the youth in his community.
Journey 4 Life is the subsidiary to the parent company of another campaign that Pastor John oversees, Shepherd's Fold Community Church along with Destiny School of Ministry, a program designed to educate members of the St. Croix, USVI community. We were fortunate to produce the campaign for all three entities.
Creative I was fortunate to be invited to St. Croix to officially launch the project and film a short promotional video that was featured on the organization's social media platforms. Their first event was a major success with community leaders, parents, and families participating in 2 days of panel discussions and positive feedback from all that attended including sponsors. Additional programs have been developed as a result of the support for Journey 4 Life.
Product Development & Promotions
It is great to know that working on a project of this nature allows us to do what we do best while giving back to our youth. Building community, helping others, and working with very talented individuals is a great part of the foundation of Creative I.
To translate the themes of grassroots and experiential marketing, coupled with community engagement, and non-profit building into an effective and productive campaign.
We began working with John during the summer of 2015. John was clear that he wanted Creative I to oversee the grassroots marketing efforts for Shepherds Fold Community Church which at that time was transitioning into forming a secondary location in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. John advised of the importance of building a strong online marketing platform which would allow him to communicate his efforts to those that he worked with in Michigan as well as in St. Croix. Like many of our clients, John has a very strong voice and platform on social media and therefore was looking for a marketing company to assist with building a campaign that supported his efforts. These efforts included websites for all three of the entities that he oversees, promotional marketing, copy review for collateral used for business communications, campaign strategy and management, and experiential marketing development including sponsorship coordination. We are proud to say that we continue to work with John and the continued growth and the expansion of his vision. Our efforts and work done with Journey 4 Life was recognized by Facebook and resulted in an exclusive opportunity to share our story with their audience at the Facebook Communities Forum (view our experience here).
Creative I Solution
Our strategy in working with John and his team ultimately was to fully understand his vision, plans for growth, and present the best marketing solutions that would result in effective communication with his supporters, donors, and members of his respective communities both on and offline. We worked very closely with John to ensure that the messaging, theme, and platform remained consistent across various platforms including the websites that we produced and manage, the e-commerce platform which allows the non-profit to receive online donations, and to stay up to date with new community projects being produced by Journey 4 Life.
This integrated marketing campaign is rooted in non-profit development with the focus on community engagement and event and experiential marketing. We created brand marketing and identity for Journey 4 Life along with focusing on building their online community through an informational website, engaging supporters through the creation of sponsorship packages, promotional material, and general consultation on how to market the program so that the organization continues to grow.
II. Digital Marketing
One of the best ways to engage your community is by building a strong online platform that opens the door for creating quality relationships, sharing experiences, and developing opportunities to work with others. This was the foundation of the online platforms for each of Journey 4 Life's digital marketing initiatives.
The truth of working with Pastor John is that he is extremely gifted in building community. While he has shared with others that working with Creative I allowed him to articulate his vision and ultimately we built, managed, and designed each respective campaign component with all of these things elements as the foundation, it certainly does not hurt that John has a phenomenal voice which is clear and apparent to those that he engages with. The question that we receive from many individuals is "how were you able to build an effective campaign considering all of the moving components, distance between our office and John and his team?" We believe that communication is key with any campaign and therefore we made sure that we understood both John and his team and ultimately those that support his cause. John has seen exponential growth in his online communities (Facebook and Instagram) along with visitors on the websites created by our team, and the donor support of his non-profit efforts.
II. Creative Design & Brand Promotion
Creative I developed storyboards, promotional material, and digital content for registration and training purposes for a special campaign called "Destiny School of Ministry" produced by Journey 4 Life. Marketing material featured images of The Journey 4 Life team coupled with positive images the compliments the vision and messaging of their community.
In our continued development with Journey 4 Life, we created content used in conjunction with the campaign that John and his team could use across all social media platforms and for print promotion. Artistic direction, theme creation, copy and image sourcing were developed by Creative I in conjunction with the vision of Journey 4 Life.
